Turandot

A prince risks death for love. Turandot is a woman of power. Any prince wishing to seek her hand in marriage must first answer three riddles. The price paid for a wrong answer is execution before a bloodthirsty mob. Over the years, Turandot mercilessly claimed many a man's head...until she finally met her ultimate match. This was Puccini's final opera. In fact, he passed away before the completion of the final duet. It ultimately took almost two years and two different composers to finish Turandot. Originally banned by the People’s Republic of China, it wasn’t until 1998 that Turandot was performed in a majestic production in the Forbidden City itself.
