Victor Ryan Robertson

American tenor Victor Ryan Robertson encompasses a versatile singing ability and style allowing him to cross between genres from classical repertoire to pop, contemporary, and Broadway. Recent performances include Candide at Opera national de France, and last past spring, Mr. Robertson stared in the World Premiere of Terence Blanchard's Champion, creating the role of Benny Paret/Benny Paret Jr. in a landmark production with the Opera Theatre St. Louis. Champion will be recorded and the release date is set for fall 2014. Other shows include Teleman's Orpheus at NYCO, Porgy and Bess with Capetown Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Scotish National Opera, English National Opera, Welsh National Opera, Israel National Opera, and Los Angeles Opera with Francesca Zambello. He continued working with Zambello as Rodolfo in La Bohemeat Royal Albert Hall London, and with Baz Luhrman in L.A. Victor has sung the role of the Count in Il Barbiere de Siviglia with Opera Carolina, Minnesota Opera, Manitoba Opera, Arizona Opera, Detroit Opera, and Portland Opera, and the UK Premier of Rossini's Armida in London. Other engagements include La Cenerentola with Spoleto Festival, Falstaff with Lyric Opera of Cleveland, and La Fille du Regiment with Lyric Opera of Kansas. With the trio Three Mo Tenors Victor has performed off Broadway, the Kennedy Center, Edinburgh Festival Scotland, NAACP Awards and Moscow. Other concerts include Shangri-La Hotel series in Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Manila, and Hawaii. Upcoming he will perform Beth Morrison Projects this spring for David Lang's The Difficulty of Crossing a Field in the role of Boy Sam which will appear in three cities as well as be televised on PBS.
