Antonio Nagore

Since making his professional debut with the Arizona Opera in 1985, Antonio Nagore has risen to become one of America's most exciting young tenors. He possesses a voice described as "the legato of Gedda, his power of Domingo" (American Record Guide: September/October 1995). He commands a repertoire of well over over 40 roles, includes Don José in Carmen, Werther in Werther, Hoffman in Les contes d'Hoffman, Rodolfo in La Bohéme, Cavaradossi in Tosca, Calaf in Turandot, and Turiddu in Cavalleria Rusticana. He received his Master's Degree in Music Performance from the University of Arizona, where he also studied composition and conducting. He also has been a finalist in the San Francisco Opera Merola Auditions. A consummate recitalist, Mr. Nagore has sung in concert and oratorio with many orchestras in the United States and Europe, including the Tucson Symphony, Riverside Symphony, Chattanooga Symphony & Opera, Kalamazoo Symphony, Netherlands Pilharmonic, Orcestra Sinfonica Siciliana, Ulster Orchestra, Dutch Radio Orchestra (TROS), Trondheim Symphony, and Radio France Orchestra. In all, Mr. Nagore has performed with over 60 opera houses, orchestras, and symphonies across North America, Europe, Australia and the Middle East. Last season, he won great praise with Ópera Popular as Pollione in Norma. He then returned to l'Opera de Montréal as Pollione in Norma. In April, he made his debut with Opera Santa Barbara in a concert version of La Fanciulla del West; and in this production, he also debuted the role of Dick Johnson. He finished off the season on a high note with the Fresno Grand Opera's yearly opera gala, Encore! III. Now a resident of the San Francisco Bay Area, Mr. Nagore continues to create more and greater inroads as a world-class American tenor. During the 2006-2007 Season, Mr. Nagore is scheduled to make his Estonia debut in Tallinn, Estonia in a concert production of La Wally with Estonian National Opera; and debuts the role of Giuseppe Hagenbach. He will make a return engagement with The Israeli Opera Tel Aviv-Yafo as Hoffmann in its production of Les Contes d'Hoffmann. His final appearance of the season will be with L'Opera de Montpellier as Pollione in its new production of Norma.
