Andrew Griner, Jr.
Andrew Griner, Jr. is the son of Cynthia and Joe Griner and has three younger brothers. He is in the eighth grade at the Northwest School of the Arts. His credits include Oliver in Oliver! (2007) and Billy Ray Jr. in On Golden Pond (2006) at Theatre Charlotte, Young Cain in Children of Eden (2007) and Baseball Who / understudy Jojo (played 3 times) in Seussical (2007) at CPCC, Gavroche in Les Miserables (2007) at Northwest School of the Arts, and the operas Amahl & the Night Visitors (2004) and Casey at the Bat (2005) with the UNC-Greensboro Music Department. During the summer of 2006 he recorded for an instructional CD for Kindermusik. In addition, he sang the National Anthem at Charlotte Knights Stadium (August 2007), performed solo with the Greensboro Symphony at the Fox8 Charity Concert at the Greensboro Coliseum (December 2005), and was a finalist in the 2006 Triad Idol Competition. He was a member of the Greensboro Youth Chorus from August 2004 to May 2006. In August 2006, Andrew joined The Dragon's Choir group and is honored to be part of Honors Chorus by audition this year, representing his school at a statewide convention. Andrew will return for a performance as Amahl in Amahl & the Night Visitors with Opera Carolina in December 2007. Andrew enjoys playing sports and games with his brothers and friends, listening to music, and reading Harry Potter books.
