Chilean-American Soprano Elisa Cordova is earning tremendous acclaim in her young career as "an artist who sings rapturously" for leading roles including Antonia in Les Contes d'Hoffmann, Norina in Don Pasquale, Despina in Cosi fan tutte, Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, Adele in Die Fledermaus, as well as Esther in Meet me in St. Louis, Antonia in Man of la Mancha, and Winnie in Annie get your Gun. Ms. Cordova received her operatic training from the Eastman School of Music, Binghamton University and Tri-Cities Opera. She won the Tri-Cities Opera Guild Scholarship, was a competition winner of the Lotte Lenya Vocal Competition, and the recipient of the Clark Fellowship in 2001-2003. She is in demand with companies around the country including Tri-Cities Opera, Aspen Music Festival, Tulsa Opera, Metropolitan Opera Guild, among others.. Ms. Cordova is an active recitalist, specializing in Spanish language repertoire. She has premiered new works throughout the United States, Italy, and Chile in connection with various artists such as minimalist composer Steve Reich and Christopher Larkin. Ms. Cordova's next appearance will be in Costa Rica in 2006, in the Zarzuela El Barberillo de Lavapies and the off-broadway production The Music Teacher.
