Opera Carolina Announces Hearst Night at the Opera
The Hearst Foundations sponsor 500 free tickets for first-time operagoers to the Jan. 23 performance of Il Trittico

What: Opera Carolina has 500 free tickets for the "Hearst Night at the Opera" contest to be held Dec. 6 -8. First-time operagoers are eligible to enter by visiting www.operacarolina.org/win. Each winner will receive 2 tickets to the Thursday, Jan. 23 performance of Puccini's triple-bill Il Trittico. The evening is made possible by a generous grant from the Hearst Foundations.
Who: Open to anyone who has not attended an Opera Carolina performance.
When: Free-ticket registration date - December 6 - 8. Performance Date - 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan, 23.
Where: Belk Theater stage at the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center.
Why: The Hearst Foundations have provided a multi-year Audience Building grant of $300,000, allowing Opera Carolina to offer free and subsidized tickets to key demographics. A portion of this funding was used to provide a limited number of free tickets during one performance of Aida this fall, and to support "Hearst Night at the Opera" for Il Trittico in January.
How: To enter to win, visit www.operacarolina.org/win. The online contest is live from December 6th and will close December 8th. This contest is for first-time operagoers only, past attendees will be disqualified. Maximum of one entry per household. Duplicate entries will be disqualified. Each entry is for 2 tickets to the January 23rd performance of Il Trittico only. Tickets have no cash value and cannot be sold or exchanged. After the contest closes on December 8, winners will be selected at random.
