The bohemian lifestyle of struggling young artists in Paris is interrupted
by the intensity of falling in love. Romance is never uncomplicated.
The impoverished poet, Rodolfo, becomes desperately enamored with
Mimi, a pretty neighbor who sits alone in her loft embroidering flowers
and waiting for spring. Marcello, the artist, agonizes over his tumultuous
relationship with flirtatious Musetta, his on-again-off-again sweetheart.
The joy of living is counterbalanced with the struggles to keep body
and soul together, and passion fights with the need to be understood.
Dreams clash with reality, and in the end, life and death share the stage
in a poignant portrayal of too little too late.
One of the world’s best-loved operas, Puccini’s brilliant La Bohème
delivers a message as timeless as love itself.
