2011-12 Touring Season
Pinocchio

Pinocchio is an operatic adaptation of the classic children's story using music from great operas by Mozart, Offenbach, Donizetti, Pergolesi, Sullivan, and Verdi.
The old clock maker Gepetto has always wanted a son. He begins carving a puppet and with the Old Blue Lady's help the puppet, Pinocchio, becomes a real boy. Gepetto sends him off to school when, on his way, he meets Wolf and Cat, who slyly convince him that school is no place for a boy. The three set off to skip school and when Pinocchio finally returns home, Gepetto eagerly asks him about his day. With each lie Pinocchio's nose grows, teaching him the value of telling the truth.
